We have noticed that candidates do not know what to do when they have jamb admission letter errors. If you fall into this category of candidates this information is for you.
If you have been admitted by a school but when you check your jamb admission status it displays another school, you will need to reject the admission from the other school.
Admission Rejection is a process whereby a candidate offered admission in a school will obtain a form usually for a fee to reject such Admission.
Why should a student Reject Admission
The reason for Rejecting admission is unavoidable in some certain situation.
Jamb is also responsible in the process of Rejecting admission.
Two different universities or polytechnic can admit One candidate, and as an evidence of Admission, A jamb admission letter must be printed out on the official jamb website.
However Jamb can not approve two different schools admission letter into university or polytechnic.
If a candidate is offered admission in both Unilag and uniuyo, only one admission letter will appear on jamb website.
If unilag admission letter appears on the jamb website and the candidate concerned prefers Uniuyo to Unilag.
There will be need to Reject Unilag admission and after doing so, the Uniuyo admission letter will appear on the Jamb website .
Note:
Such candidates should make sure they resolve the issue at the JAMB Office after rejecting the admission. So that the real admission letter will reflect. The processes involved will be explained to such a candidate.
Letter of Admission:
(a). This is purely a pre-admission matter.
(b). Those to whom this applicable are: those who sat for UME and were admitted for a particular course but changed to any other course at the point of registration but had earlier been issued Letter of Admission into the programme for which they were found unqualified OR those who where admitted and registered for specific programmes but did not secure Jamb Letters of Admission.
(c). Fee payable for this is determined by JAMB and normally attracts administrative charges (which is in each year’s JAMB Brochure)
(d). Processing the request through the University is only OPTIONAL, as every individual student affected can make direct contact with JAMB.
(e). There is no deadline for processing this Letter of Admission
(f). However Admission Letters are required at NYSC Orientation Camp prior registration.
We advice that the admission letter problem be solved as early as possible to avoid NYSC mobilisation problems.
