SHEKAU video questionable!

Latest Shekau Video "Questionable," Nigerian Army Say The Nigerian Army question the authenticity of the recently released videowhere Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, who has been declared "mortally wounded" by the military, blasts Nigerian and world authorities. Speaking to journalists of Premium Times, Ibrahim Attahiru, the Army Director of Information, said the video is yet to be verified, as it is only a "purported tape". On August 19, 2013, a statement was released by the Joint Task Force; it has been alleged in it that Shekau is believed to have died from gunshot wounds he sustained in the course of Operation Restore Order at Sambisa Forest on June 30. The statement read, in particular, "Shekau was mortally wounded in the encounter and was sneaked into Amitchide - a border community in Cameroun for treatment which he never recovered. It is greatly believed that Shekau might have died between 25 July to 3 August, 2013." For a month, not a word about the incident leaked from the Boko Haram sect.
The insurgents never confirmed or denied the information, carrying on with their murderous agenda. Two months later, the media received a videowhere Sheaku appears in military camouflage uniform, seated and surrounded by hooded insurgents. He allegedly takes responsibility for last week's killings in Benisheikh, Borno State, and for a similar attack in Monguno Town. The terrorist says Boko Haram will not stop until "an Islamic government guided by the Sharia is put in place". A State of emergency has been imposed by the Federal Government onto the states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe. Meanwhile, the newly-released video has already caused reaction from officials. For instance, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, Director of Advanced Centre for Sustainable Development, said there is too much "talking" involved before anything is actually confirmed. While admitting the Federal Government has not performed "too badly" in their fight with terrorism, Olaonipekun was quick to add it was not "too well," either. "There are two aspects to this issue of terrorism, from my own point of view. Firstly, I think our attitude of talking too much is taking its toll on the issue of security," Olaonipekun said. "Before anything happens everybody is talking, the security chiefs are talking, the special advisers to the government are talking, meanwhile these are issues that should be regarded as security information. "Handling security information is not just saying everything, because when you give all the information to your enemy, the battle is as good as lost. "They might have the strategies they are reserving, but giving hasty or too much information might not help matters..." Olaonipekun concluded that if it turns out Shekau is alive, it would be "if not a disgrace to us as a nation, with all apologies to the security operatives, it might be a disgrace to them on the long run."
