The star's friend has insisted her message about people taking responsibility for their actions was simply about "life in general"
Hailey Baldwin has denied weighing in on Justin Bieber 's Instagram drama and ongoing feud with his ex Selena Gomez .
The niece of actor Alec Baldwin has asked fans not to drag her into a situation she isn't "part of" after she posted a cryptic message on social media urging people not to misplace blame.
According to PEOPLE, Justin has unfollowed Hailey on Instagram amid his back-and-forth with Selena, and she wrote on the site: "We've all had our fair share of things we've done, both good and bad.
"What makes the present so powerful is when we take complete responsibility for our actions, we allow ourselves self-growth.
"Misplacing the blame onto someone else isn't going to get you to the next stage in life, so try not to manipulate a situation to make yourself look better."
However, Hailey has since taken to Twitter and insisted her post was about "life in general" rather than her friend's ongoing drama.
She tweeted: "The only thing I "weigh in on" is everyday life in general. Don't rope me into things I'm not a part of and please respect my privacy. x (sic)"
After trading attacks on social media, Justin responded to her message about cheating with a dig that mentioned Gigi Hadid's current boyfriend, Zayn Malik.
In screenshots taken by fans Selena appears to write: "Funny how the ones that cheated multiple times, are pointing the finger at the ones that were forgiving and supportive, no wonder fans are mad. Sad. All love."
To which Justin allegedly replied: "I cheated...Oh and I forgot about you and Zayn [Malik]?"
Was Justin - who has been in an on/off romance with Gomez since 2011 - hinting at something between his ex and the former One Direction hunk?
It comes after a post from a fan page on Twitter revealed that Selena had liked a video on Instagram taken from her Disney Channel series Wizardly of Waverly Place, in which her character Alex Russo tells her brother to get over his "25 minute girlfriend".
In the clip, she says: "Oh my gosh, Justin, you have got to get over your 25 minute girlfriend."
Last night, Bieber took to the social media site and wrote: "I'm gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don't stop the hate this is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn't be so mean to people that I like. (sic)"
Thousands of fans rushed to condemn their idol for picking a girlfriend that they didn't deem suitable and daring to criticise his own followers.
But Twitter went into meltdown after Justin's ex-girlfriend Selena appeared tocomment on his Instagram .
She wrote: "If you can't handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol – it should be special between you two only.
"Don't be mad at your fans. They love you."
Former Disney star Selena also appeared to stick the knife in, later posting a collage of pictures of her interacting with her own fans.
She captioned the snap: "My whole life. You matter most. Thank you letting me do what I love every day."
The drama started when Justin shared a succession of black and white snaps with Sofia on Sunday.
One angry fan wrote: "I won't be celebrating all your dump actions, she's gross and your treating your fans like s**t".
Standing up for his woman, the Sorry hitmaker fired back at fans in a bitter rant and threatened to delete his Instagram profile.
#RipBeliebers soon began to trend worldwide as angry fans vented on social media in a bid to get Justin's attention.
