The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) failed to release 2,494 results of the Dual Based Test (DBT) andthe Paper Pencil Test (PPT) due to various examination malpractices.For instance, eight centres in Abia, Rivers, Ebonyi and Imo States have been indicted by the board for extorting from N500 - N1,000 from the applicants. The board's helmsman pledged that the culprits will be dealt with.Applicants whose first choices are universities are 995,901 in number. Polytechnics have 13,761 applicants while Colleges of Education and Innovative Enterprise Institute have 20,558 and 32 applicants respectively.As concerns the results then, 24 candidates scored 250 points and above.108,488 candidates scored between 200 to 249 points, while 315,401 candidates got the result between 170 to 199 points.115,456 candidates scored 160 to 169 points, 122,159 - between 150 to 159 points, while 275,282 candidates scored below 150 points.So far, 174 visually impaired sat for the exams, 36,164 and 37,315 are for invalid results and absentee applicants respectively.The matriculation examination will be continued by the Computer Based Examination (CBT) which is set for May 17-31, 2014.It would be recalled that a total of1,015,504 results out of the 1.5 million that registered were releasedon April 16,2014, Wednesday: 990,179 - PPT, and 25,325 - DBT.JAMB reminded that candidates are to check their results on-line via the board'swebsite, on using their registration numbers.
