oko Haram kingpin operating in Damboa, Chibok and Askira axis of Borno State, has been arrested.

Jarasu Shira was on Wednesday morning arrested at a motor park in Damboa.

He was arrested at the park at about 8:30am along with 10 other suspected members of the group who escorted him to Damboa to connect a vehicle to Biu en route Lagos.

They were arrested by men of the vigilante (Civilian Joint Task Force, JTF) who are providing support to the Nigeria military battling the militant group.

Shira who goes by the alias Jarido is number one on the new list of wanted men by the Nigeria military. He was disguised in a cowboy outfit.

He is believed to be the leader of the Boko Haram militants in Damboa, Chibok and Askira Uba local government areas of Borno state.

The suspects have been handed over to military authorities in Biu, Borno state.

The immediate past Group Managing Director of Diamond Bank, Dr Alex Otti was declared the winner of the 2015 Abia Governorship elections, by the Appeal Court on the eve of 2016.

However, his rival Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the PDP- who was initially declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission and by the Election Tribunal- wasn’t satisfied with the outcome and therefore took the case to the Supreme Court as a last resort.

So it was quite surprising in all its entirety when HKN superstar, Davido who is currently in New York, took to Twitter to congratulate Dr. Alex Otti.

There are indeed several questions about this flabbergasting familiarity.

Firstly, why did he decide to congratulate him today? Three weeks after the announcement of the Appeal Court’s ruling.

Does he know something we don’t or he simply wanted to join the bandwagon of the supporters’ club of the APGA candidate, who has trended on Twitter for most of the day, for nothing in particular?

Secondly, what is the connection between Davido and Alex Otti because last we checked, they have no cultural ties or family ties?

Maybe, Dr. Otti is in his wealthy father’s circle of friends and close associates.

Well,that's a story for another day.

Regardless of what it may be- we also congratulate ‘Uncle’ Davido in advance, for his ‘major deal’ to be announced later today.

Tunisia head coach, Hatem Missaoui, is full of confidence ahead of Friday’s second Group C game against Nigeria at the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.

The Carthage Eagles drew their first game against Guinea on Monday and are seeking for a first victory at the tournament.

Missaoui said all his players are back from sickness and injuries that ravaged the team before their opener and vowed to cage the Nigerians who won their opener 4-1 against Niger and stop them from scoring goals.

“We are not looking forward to defending against a player in the Nigeria team, we have our tactics to stop the Super Eagles from scoring goals,” Missaoui said.

“What we are targeting is qualification to the next round of the competition and not just a victory against the Super Eagles.

“Nigeria have a good striker in [Chisom] Chikatara but we also have our own top scorer, Ahmed Akaichi, who scored the two goals against Guinea. He can get goals against the Super Eagles too.”

He however said all the teams in Rwanda are favourites to lift the trophy come February 7.

He said: “The Nigeria side is a very good team, we know how big they are and we are very ready to play them. We hope Friday match goes well for us.

“We are not just targeting the win against Nigeria, but qualification to the next stage, if we get the victory that will be fantastic for us.”

In recent time, we’ve had western dance moves like stanky leg, dougie, twerking and even more recently the nae nae, sweep the nation.

However, a new dance move known as the Dab,is taking over the country after Olamide and DJ Enimoney of YBNL popularised it through their collaborative effort titled Oya Dab.

Ever since its release of last week, Nigerians have flooded social media with pictures and videos, where they dabbed to the song.

The hip hop dance, which originated from Atlanta, United States, is one in which the dancer simultaneously drops the head while raising an arm and briefly resting the face inside the elbow.

Possible originators of the dance move have been named to include Skippa Da Flippa ,Peewee Longway, Rich The Kid and Migos.

The dab however, didn’t become a trend until American football players and European soccer players started using it as a celebration dance.

Notable among them was Juventus player, Paul Pogba, who dabbed after he scored for his side against Sampdoria in the Italian Serie A.

Manchester United player Jesse Lingard, also followed suit after he scored for his club against Newcastle United in the English premier league.

Olisa Metuh, the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, has been granted bail by a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja.

Metuh, who arrived in court on Tuesday, January 19, for his bail hearing, is under investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

Before his bail, he was remanded in Kuje Prisons, Abuja.
