Okocha In Air, Noise Pollution Mess As Agency Threatens To Seal Residence

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has threatened to seal-off former Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha’s residence over air and noise pollution.
It was reliably gathered that emission oozing out of the former Bolton Wanderers’ captain No 9, Omodara Street, Awushe Estate, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos, is polluting the air in the neighbourhood while the heavy sound from his generator has been causing noise pollution in the vicinity.

One of his neighbours, a professor of Law, was said to have reported the former Super Eagles to the State Environmental Agency.
It was learnt that Okocha has been invited thrice by officials of the agency for his own side of the story but he has shunned all the summons served on him.
“Having exhausted all legal means to get him come for consultation on the matter and he has shunned them all and the complains keep coming in, the agency will no other choice than to seal his residence to save the neighbourhood from further noise and air pollution,” said a source in the agency.
If the residence of the former Eagles skipper is eventually sealed off by LASEPA, it will be the second time the agency will seal-off property of former Eagles player.

Another former skipper of the Super Eagles, Kanu Nwakwo, had his night club sealed off for dirty environment.
The club was sealed off for one week after complying with the agency’s directives.
