The renowned designer of the Chevrolet  Bolt  has been named as the Director General of Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council –

When Jelani Aliyu was a young boy in Sokoto, never would be have imagined that one day he would create a piece of innovation that would change the way things are done in the world.

The Chevrolet Volt has been described as a modern day revolutionary product, one that would change the world.
The car has inspired other electric cars like the Tesla. And it was designed by Jelani Aliyu, who, when he was growing up in a remote part of Nigeria, could not have imagined he would be celebrated around the world for this creativity.
After his Higher National Diploma in Architecture from Kebbi Polytechnic, he had the opportunity to move abroad where he studied Automobile Design. Now, he’s regarded as an American asset.
Finally though, he has been recognized by the country of his birth. Jelani Aliyu has been named as the Director General of Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council – the government agency responsible for locally manufactured cars for the mass of Nigerians for whom owning a vehicle is a pipe dream.
In most places around the world, a car is a given. With Aliyu’s experience of working at the largest car manufacturer in the world, it is hoped that his appointment to the NADDC would help create a revolution in Nigeria.
