Olympics: Ajagba can win gold in boxing – Konyegwachie

RIO
Coach Tony Konyegwachie is optimistic that Nigeria’s lone boxer for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Efe Ajagba has the ability to clinch the first gold medal for the country in Brazil.
The coach, who has been handling the boxer for the Olympic Games, told NationSport yesterday that he is confident that Ajagba can spring surprise in Brazil.
“I can confidently tell you that the boy (Ajagba) is ready for the games. He is in good mood and I believe he can claim the first gold for the country in Brazil. We train twice daily and with his form coupled with his fitness, Ajagba has all it takes to conquer in Brazil. Despite his inability to embark on training tour, I believe he still can match others across the globe. He will face the best boxers in the world and with what I am seeing in Ajagba, he is determined and fully ready for the games,” Konyegwachie said.
Ajagba, who is the only boxer representing Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is ranked among the top 10 boxers in the men’s Super-Heavyweight category as the 2015 African Games gold medalist is rated number nine in the world.
