Michael Strahan Claims His Bitter Divorce Was The ‘Best Worst’ Thing

Even though he’s been divorced twice, Michael Strahan has no regrets. In fact, he has revealed what made his nasty second split the ‘best worst’ thing that ever happened to him.

Michael Strahan, 42, who works on multiple TV shows including Good Morning America and Live! with Kelly and Michael, was so full of positivity during his interview with Barbara Walters, 85, for her 10 Most Fascinating People of 2014 special on Dec. 14. The former NFL player opened up not just about one divorce, but both while discussing his personal life.

Michael Strahan; My 2nd Divorce Was The ‘Best Worst’

As one of Barbara’s Top 10 Most Fascinating People, it’s a requirement to address both the good and the bad aspects of your personal life.
During his interview, Michael revealed that his second divorce, which was layered in nasty accusations and rumors, was definitely a learning curve for him.

“It was one of the worst/best things that ever happened to me,” he explained.
Does Michael deserve to be one of the most interesting people of 2014?

Michael was accused of cheating, and, in one of the more shocking rumors, having a romantic relationship with his best friend — a man.
So, how was it the “best worst” thing that could have happened?
“Because it let me get to the point where I had to learn not to care what anybody thought.”
He also said that it was important that he put his 4 children first during the divorce, especially his two baby girls.
Kudos to Michael for turning something sad and terrible into something positive. Not many people have the ability to do that!

Michael’s First Ex-Wife Is His ‘Best Friend

During the interview, Michael also revealed that his first divorce wasn’t a bad thing at all.
“No, you know what? She’s one of my best friends,” Michael said of his ex-wife, Wanda Hutchins.
“She gives me advice on relationships and everything else. We were just kids having kids. For us, we were smart enough to turn that into a great friendship.”
And the positivity that Michael radiates has also worked well for his career.
Michael, who spent 14 years playing for the New York Giants, was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Feb. 2014.
He has seamlessly transitioned into one of the most popular men on television co-hosting GMA and Live! as well as Fox NFL Sunday, during football season — keeping his sports roots in tact.
