Roma only behind Juventus because of 'illegal' goals, says Garcia
The Frenchman remains furious about the referee's decisions in their Serie A encounter earlier this season and says he wants to win the title for Francesco Totti

Rudi Garcia feels Roma would have been atop of the Serie A table had Juventus not been awarded three "illegal" goals when they met back in October.

Roma were beaten 3-2 by the reigning champions in Turin, with the referee awarding Juve two controversial penalties as well as allowing a goal that could have been disallowed for offside.

The capital club currently sit just one point behind the reigning champions and Garcia feels the events at the Juventus Stadium have become all the more significant.

"We are behind Juventus at the moment, but we should be level because they beat us with three 'illegal' goals," Garcia told France Football.

"I firmly believe in our Scudetto chances and I will not retreat on what I said about our chances of winning the title.

"Winning the title with Roma will be like winning the Ligue 1 title with Lille three years ago.

"I have told Francesco Totti that we want to win a trophy for him. He cannot end his career without winning another title."

Roma have collected 35 points from 15 games so far this season, trailing leaders Juventus by one point.
