The former Manchester United manager is supposedly in the frame for the Stadium of Light hot seat following the current boss being installed as favourite for the England job
Sunderland have lined up David Moyes as Sam Allardyce’s replacement should the latter be appointed as England boss, according to The Daily Star.
Allardyce flew back from the Black Cats’ pre-season training camp in Austria to meet FA representatives on Tuesday as they continue their search to replace Roy Hodgson.
And although FA sources have made no secret regarding the rigorous screening process for the new Three Lions boss, with Jurgen Klinsmann, Steve Bruce and Eddie Howe all being mooted for the job, Sunderland are taking swift action to select Allardyce’s successor.
