Olorogun O’tega Emerhor was leading with more than 99
percent of the votes cast at Thursday’s governorship
primaries of the All Progressive Congress in Delta
State.
The exercise was initially delayed by supporters of Mr.
Okenmor Tilije, the only opponent of Emerhor, who
protested official arrangements for the congress that took
place at the Oshimili North Arcade, Asaba.
Tilije eventually walked out with his supporters before
voting commenced. The initial confusion and rowdiness
eventually gave way as counting of votes went on.
Official declaration of the winner was still awaited at the
time of filing this report.
