Why 8 Aspirants Walk-Out Of Katsina PDP Guber Primaries

Reports coming in from the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries in
Katsina State reveal that eight out of the nine
aspirants seeking guber ticket have staged walked
out of the primary election venue on Monday.
Leadership reports that the aspirants staged the walk out
immediately after the state governor, Ibrahim Shehu
Shema cast his vote around 3.pm at the commencement
of the exercise holding at the state’s Permanent NYSC
orientation camp.
It would be recalled that nine persons including Senator
Ibrahim Muhammad Ida, Engr Kabir Barkiya,
Tukur Jikamshi, Nasiru Dutsinma, Ahmed Aminu
Yaradua, Musa Nashuni, Nura Khalil, Umar
Abdullahi Tsauri and Gide Aminu Yaradua have been
in the race to obtain the state guber ticket on the
platform of the PDP.
It was gathered that just few days to the commencement
of the party primaries, the governor allegedly revealed
to stakeholders that Mr. Musa Nashuni was his
anointed successor, a development that reportedly pitched
other aspirants against party leadership.
The eight aspirants who sat closed to each other at the
VIP pavilion of the venue abruptly left the venue few
minutes after voting began.
However, Senator Ida, Tukur Jikamshi and Nura
Khalil left the venue immediately and were later
followed by Engr. Barkiya, Ahmed Aminu as well as
Abdullahi Tsauri.
