RESURGENT JOEL OBI SET FOR ROMA TRIP

Having worked his way back into the first
team of Internazionale Milan following
injury and long recuperating process,
Nigerian international midfielder Joel Obi
is gradually returning to the form that saw
him become the toast of Nigerian fans with his Italian
Serie A club.
The Super Eagles star scored his side’s lone goal in the 1-1
derby cracker with rivals Milan last weekend and followed
that performance up with another superlative display in
Inter’s 2-1 home win against Dnipro in an UEFA
Europa League game Thursday which has guaranteed them
a place in the round of 32.
And tomorrow, Joel Obi will again be available for
selection as Inter go on a difficult road trip against high-
riding Roma. Inter are trying to work their way up the
league table where they currently occupy the 9th position
with 17 points and they face a tough task against a Roma
side that are 2nd on the log with 28 points.
Joel’s coach at Inter, Roberto Mancini is obviously
delighted with the Nigerian star’s display and might yet
deploy him in the heart of the team’s midfield in the clash
with Roma. To this end, the 23-year old player would be
looking to feature in what will be his 8th league game of the
season.
